HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-0744 - Ordinance - 05/24/1971ORDINANCE NO. 744 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING A 1.44 ACRE TRACT LOCATED AT THE WEST CORNER OF THE HIGHWAY 6 EAST BY-PASS AND UNIVERSITY DRIVE FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District; It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in College Station, Texas, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 1971, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows: All that irregular shaped tract of land situated at the northwest quadrant of SH 6 By -Pass and FM 60, Brazos County, Texas, containing not less than 49,852 square feet and which is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the diagonal right-of-way line of SH 6 By -Pass and the northerly right-of-way line of FM 60; Thence, S 510 15' W along said right-of-way line of FM 60 150 feet to a point for corner; Thence, N 380 45' W 232 feet, more or less, to a point for corner; Thence, N 510 15' E 232 feet, more or less, to a point for corner in the westerly right-of-way line of SH 6 By -Pass; Thence, southeasterly a distance of 150 feet along the westerly right-of-way line of SH 6 By -Pass to a point for corner; Thence, S 60 151 W along diagonal right-of-way line of SH 6 By -Pass 106.07 feet to the point of beginning, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District t0 DistricL No. 4, First Business D18LY-icL. Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall be not less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
