AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING OF
PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE SOUTH-WEST SIDE OF HIGHWAY NO. 6 AT THE NORTH-WEST
EXIT OF THE HIGHWAY NO. 6 EAST BY-PASS AND KNOWN AS "DEACON PLACE SUB-
DIVISION SECTION #1" FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO
DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY
METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that
all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling
House District to District No. 4, First Business District;
It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City
Hall in College Station, Texas, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 1971, on
the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows:
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated
in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas,
being a part of that tract conveyed to the Area Progress Corporation by
C.M.R. Deacon, et ux, by deed recorded in Volume 275, Page 705 of the
Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a concrete right-of-way marker in the southwest right-
of-way line of State Highway No. 6, S 450 07 E - 1956.3 feet from the
intersection of the southwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6
and the southeast right-of-way line of F.M. 2818;
Thence S 30 47' 38" E - 163.72 feet to a concrete monument;
Thence S 370 24t 42" E - 680.0 feet with the southwest right-of-way
line of State Highway No. 6;
Thence S 520 351 18" W - 400.0 feet;
Thonco N 370 241 42" W - 980.0 feet;
Thence N 520 35' 1811 E - /+65.50 feet to the southwest right-of-way
line of State Highway No. 6;
Thence S 45' 07' E - 165.15 feet with the southwest right-of-way
line of State Highway No. 6 to the point of beginning and containing
9.44 acres of land more or less, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House
District to District No. 4, First Business District.
Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general:
circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the

first publication of which shall be not less than 15 days prior to the date
fixed for the hearing.
