HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-0710 - Ordinance - 11/23/197065 -j ORDINANCE NO. 710 AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING A STREET, OF WHICH A PART IS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING FILED IN THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURT RECORDS, VOLUME 286, PAGE 165, SAID STREET BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has determined that the street mentioned above has not been officially named, which creates needless confusion, and that the situation should be remedied. Therefore, be it ordained by the City Council, that the street in question shall be officially named "BANK OF A&.M STREET". All signs on said street shall be posted accordingly. The metes and bounds description of this property is as follows: Beginning at a point in the Southeast Right of Way line of Texas Avenue, said point further described as being N 440 40' W, a distance of approximately 195 feet from an iron rod marking the Northwest common corner of Texas Avenue and University Drive; Thence N 440 24' E a distance of 125 feet to a point for a corner; thence N 450 36' W a distance of 14 feet to a point for a corner; thence N 440 24' E a distance of 139. 5 feet to a point for a corner; thence S 450 36' E a distance of 208 feet to a point for a corner; thence N 440 29' E along the North right of way line of University Drive, a distance of 26 feet to a point for a corner; thence N 45 36' W a distance of 231 feet to a point for a corner; thence S 440 24' W a distance of 291 feet to a point for a corner; thence S 440 40' E along the East right of way line of Texas Avenue, a distance of 40 feet to the Place of Beginning.
