AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING
A 10. 518 ACRE TRACT OUT OF THE J. E. SCOTT SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 50, BRAZOS
COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID TRACT BEING OUT OF A 48.7 ACRE TRACT, BEING A PORTION
OF THE SUBER ESTATE TRACT OF LAND, FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING
HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND SAID PROPERTY
LOCATED NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF FM 60 AND THE WEST BY-PASS OF HIGHWAY 6
AND FM 2818, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS
IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas:
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that
all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, first dwelling house district to
District No. 4, first business district,
It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City Hall in
College Station, Texas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21,1970, on the -question of
rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows:
Tract No. 1 (with airport clear -zone deducted)
A 10. 518 acre tract out of the J. E. Scott Survey, Abstract No. 50, Brazos
County, Texas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the most westerly corner of the Bertie Suber Hoerner
48. 7 acre tract, same being the most northerly corner of the Ralph Bobbitt 8.139-acre
tract; thence N 440 36' E with the common line between said Hoerner tract and the Robert
W. Toler tract, 418 feet to a point in the southwest right-of-way line of FM Road 2818,
hereinafter referred to as the West Loop.
Thence, S 400 33' E, a distance of 188. 5' along the southwest right-of-way
line of the West Loop; thence S 410 59' E, a distance of 400.0 feet; thence S 350 34' E, a
distance of 402. 5 feet; thence S 280 31. 9' E, a distance of 425.86 feet; thence S 790 14' W,
a distance of 221. 67 feet; thence N 450 30. 5' W, a distance of 1, 269. 58 feet to the Point
of Beginning, containing 10.518 acres, more or less, from District No. 1, first dwelling
house district to District No. 4, first business district.
Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation
in the City of College Station at least three times, the first publication of which shall be
not less than 15 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing.
