HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-0678 - Ordinance - 04/27/1970ORDINANCE NO. 678 AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE 10. 84 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF WELSH STREET AND SOUTHWEST PARKWAY FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council, City of College Station, Texas: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 p. m. on April 27, 1970, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of a 10. 84 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas, being a part of that 166.57 acre tract conveyed to the Area Progress Corporation by Mrs. Tennie Jones, et al, by deed recorded in Volume 256, page 136, of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the southeast line of Southwest Parkway and the southwest line of Welsh Boulevard; Thence S 570 46' 11" W - 697. 73 feet along an extension of the southeast line of Southwest Parkway to the southwest line of the said 166.57 acre tract; Thence S 440 41' 48" E - 499. 67 feet with the southwest line of the said 166. 57 acre tract to a fence corner; Thence S 430 42' 23" W - 110. 7 feet to a fence corner; Thence S 440 31' 37" E - 152. 6 feet to an iron rod; Thence N 450 28' 23" E - 336. 3 feet to an iron rod; Thence S 440 31' 37" E - 262.49 feet; Thence N 450 28' 23" E - 321. 84 feet to the southwest line of Welsh Boulevard; Thence along the arc of a curve to right in the southwest line of Welsh Boulevard (R=2402. 71), the chord of which bears N 370 04' 08" W - 405. 33 feet to the P. T. of said curve; Thence N 320 13' 49" W - 376. 30 feet with the southwest line of Welsh Boulevard to the point of beginning and containing 10.84 acres of land more or less, from District No. 1, first dwelling house district to District No. 4, first business district, and it is so ordained that said change be effective immediately.
