HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-0669 - Ordinance - 02/23/1970ORDINANCE NO. 669 AN ORDINANCE TO REZONE A 27.234 ACRE TRACT OF LAND FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 3, APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT, SAID TRACT OF LAND BEING LOCATED EAST OF PROPOSED ANDERSON STREET, NORTH OF HOLLEMAN DRIVE AND SOUTH OF PARK PLACE, BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 p.m. on February 23, 1970, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of a 27.234 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the J. E. Scott and C. Burnett Leagues, Brazos County, Texas and being part of the 87. 0 acre tract described in Volume 48, Page 375, part of the 11. 25 acre tract described in Volume 120, Page 593, and part of the 28.422 acre tract (Tract No. 1) described in Volume 161, Page 578 and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the northeast right of way line of Anderson Street located N 430 59' W a distance of 25.4 feet from a southwest interior ell corner of the beforementioned 87.0 acre tract, said point also being the intersection of the said northeast right of way line of Anderson Street with the northwest right of way line of Park Place. Thence N 560 14' E along the beforementioned northwest line of Park Place for a distance of 428. 19 feet to a point for corner in a southwest line of the Kapchinski Addition; Thence S 430 55, E along the beforementioned southwest line of the Kapchinski Addition to the City of College Station for a distance of 372. 58 feet and corner; corner; corner; Thence N 650 58. 5' E for a distance of 77. 96 feet to a fence corner for Thence S 460 23' E for a distance of 130. 58 feet to a fence corner for Thence N 680 12.5' E for a distance of 665. 98 feet to an iron rod for corner; z Ordinance No. 669 Page 2 Thence S 390 05.1' E for a distance of 472.43 feet to a point for corner in the northwest right of way line of Holleman Drive, said right of way being in a curve to the left with radius of 543.30 feet; Thence, in a southwesterly direction along the beforementioned curve and right of way line an arc distance of 464.56 feet to the end of said curve, the chord bears S 210 28.1' W a distance of 450.54 feet; Thence S 030 01. 7' E continue along the beforementioned northwest right of way line for a distance of 449.59 feet to the beginning point of curve to right with central angle 480 02' and radius of 183.21 feet; Thence in a southwesterly direction, continue along the before -mentioned curve and northwest right of way line for an arc distance of 153. 59 feet to the end of said curve, the chord bears S 210 02.7' W a distance of 149. 13 feet; Thence S 450 03. 7' W continue along the beforementioned northwest right of way line for a distance of 145. 14 feet to an iron rod for corner in the northeast line of the A&M Consolidated School 12. 0 acre tract; Thence N 440 18' W along the beforementioned northeast line of the A&M Consolidated School tract for a distance of 841. 63 feet to an iron rod for angle point; Thence N 480 37' W for a distance of 1, 076.12 feet to an angle point in the south- east line of Park Place; Thence N 430 59' W across Park Place for a distance of 50. 8 feet to the Place of Beginning, containing 27.234 acres of land, more or less, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 3, Apartment House District, and it is so ordained that said change be effective immediately. PASSED AND APPROVED this 23rd day of February, 1970.
