AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME FROM "CULPEPPER AVENUE" IN THE
UNIVERSITY OAKS SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,
TO "STALLINGS AVENUE", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has determined
that the naming of the street now known as "CULPEPPER AVENUE" in the University
Oaks Subdivision, creates needless confusion, and that such situation should be remedied.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, that the name of the street now known as "CULPEPPER AVENUE" in
the University Oaks Subdivision, shall be, and is hereby changed to "STALLINGS AVENUE".
All signs on said street shall be changed accordingly.
The present name of said street creates needless confusion, and it is necessary
that the street be renamed at once in order to prevent further confusion, and such fact
creates an emergency and an urgent public necessity requiring that the rules and pro-
visions providing for ordinances to be read more than one time at more than one meeting
be suspended, and requiring that this ordinance be passed as and take effect as an
emergency measure, and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.

ORDINANCE NO. 654
AN ORDINANCE OFFICIALLY NAMING A STREET, OF WHICH A PART IS IN THE
RICHARDS SUBDIVISION IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE OF BRAZOS
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUBDIVISION PLAT BEING FILED IN THE BRAZOS COUNTY
COURT RECORDS, VOLUME 137, PAGE 25, SAID STREET BEING FURTHER DES-
CRIBED AS LYING APPROXIMATELY 258 FEET SOUTHEAST OF AND PARALLEL
TO RICHARDS STREET, A DEDICATED STREET, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has determined
that the street mentioned above has not been officially named, which creates needless
confusion, and that the situation should be remedied.
Therefore, be it ordained by the City Council, City of College Station, Texas,
that the street in question shall be officially named "STERLING STREET". All signs
on said street shall be posted accordingly.
