December 19, 1946
Members present: Ma~or Langford; Councilmen Ames, Brown, Crawford, Orr,
Wilcox, City Manager Vaughn and City Secretary McGinni~.
The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the returns of the election of
December 17, 1946. The Council adopted the following resolution by unanimous
vote:

CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
On this the 19th day of December, 1946, the City Council of the City
of College Station, Texas, convened in Spocial session at the regular meeting
place, with the following members thereof present, to wit:

E. E. Ames
R. L. Brown
C. W. Crawford
J. a. Orr
G. B. Wilcox
Mayor
Councilmen

and the following absent: Harrin~ton. , constituting a quorum, when
among other proceedingst~ad, were the following:
Councilman Craw~ord introduced a resolution and moved its
adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman
The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed
by the following vo~e:

NOES: None.
The resolution is as follows:
WHEP~, on the 19th day of November, 1946, the City Council adopted an
order calling an election to be held in the City of College Station, Texas,
on the l?th day of December, 1946, on the following propositions:
PROPOSITION~O. 1
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum
of $35,000.00, payable serially not to exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed fo~ (4%) per cent per annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking
fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructin~
improvements and extensions to the waterworks system of said City, as
authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
P~OPOSITION NO~ 2
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum
of $50,000.00, payable serially not fo exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4%)'per cent per annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking
fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructing
improvements and extensions to the sanitary sewer s~stem of said City, as
authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
PROPOSITION NO, ~
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum of
$15,000.00, payable serially not to exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4%) per cent annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a
sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructing
improvements and extensions to the electric light system of said City, as
authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
WHEREAS, upon consideration of the re~=ns of said election, it apperas
that the same wa~ in all respects legally held, after due notice had been
given, and that the said returns were duly and legally made, and that there
were cast at the said election 230 valid and legal votes, of which number
there were casts

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called: that notice was given in accordance
with law and in accordance with the order calling the election; that the election
was held in accordance with law; that due return of said election has been made
by the proper officers; that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance

of said bonds; and that a majority of the resident qualified property taspaying
voters, who own taxable ~roperty in said City and who h..ve duly rendered that
same for taxation, voting at said election, voted in favor of the issuance of
said bonds.
That the City Council be and it is hereby in all things authorized, ordered
and directed to issue said bonds and to d_o any and all things necessary and /or
convenient in connection therewith.
