Workshop City Council Meeting
March 12, 1980

Councilmen Boughton, Dozier, Adams, City Manager Bardell,
City Secretary Schroeder, City Attorney Lewis, Fire Chief
Landua, Fire Marshal Davis, Assistant Police Chief Feldman
City Engineer Ash, Assistant Engineer Smith, Traffic Engineer
Black, Chief Accountant Piazza
Mayor Bravenec; Councilmen Ringer, Halter, Jones

Councilman Adams presided at this meeting.
Agenda ~tem No. 1--Discussion of Council/Student Government joint dinner meeting.
City Manager Bardell explained that it was the city's turn to host the dinner.
The date was set for April 17. The place will be determined later.
A~enda Item No.2--Discussion of Public Transit survey.
City Manager Bardell explained the study and presented the figures on the bus
system. He also answered questions of the council.
Asenda Item No. 3--Discussion of ordinance contents concernin~ smoke detector
requirements in pre~iously constructed buildings.
City Manager Bardell presented the memo from the Building Official concerning
the recommendations for smoke detector requirements.
A~enda Item No.4--Public hearin~ on setting wrecker fees under Ordinance No. 1206.
Assistant Police Chief Feldman stated that he believed only tows from private
lots should be set on a fee schedule.
The public hearing was opened.
Wrecker service owners spoke suggesting various fees, including the present
fee for towing from an accident, $42.50
The public hearing was closed.
Agenda Item No. 5--Report from the Fire Department re~arding capital equipment
required.
City Manager Bardell presented a memo from the fire department concerning priorities
for the required equipment.

Fire Chief Landua explained the need and uses for the equipment requested and
answered questions from the Coumcil.

The Council had no items to discuss at this time.

Councilman Dozier declared the meeting adjourned.
