Workshop City Council Meeting
Feb. 27, 1980
4:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: 5~yor Bravenec, Councilmen Ringer, Boughton, Dozier, Halter, Adams,
City Manager Bardell, City Attorney Lewis

Agenda Item No. 1--Discussion of traffic problems on Krenek Tap Road.
Councilman Halter asked that this item be added to the agenda and said that plans
for improving the road should be made now. The parking lot at the park should
also be considered.
Agenda Item No. 2--Discussion of a proposed wrecker ordinance.
City Attorney Lewis presented and explained the ordinance proposed. The Councilmen
made several changes in the ordinance.
Members of the audience, including George Boyett, Sparky Hardee, Loyl Benton and
Carolyne Hil~ suggested changes.
Mayor Bravenec took a straw vote on the possibility of the City fining a wrecker
owner for unauthorized towing. He directed the City Attorney to draft this
provision.
Agenda Item No.3--Discussion of the Kennerly-Lednick¥ note.
City Manager Bardell explained the request by Mr. Kennerly and Mr. Lednicky.
Councilman Halter suggested that the City Manager be authorized to work up a
proper discount with the owners and to report back to the Council.
Agenda Item No. 4--Closed session to discuss pending litigation and personnel.
The Council moved to closed session, and later opened to the public.
Agenda Item No. 5--Council Concerns.
City Manager Bardell explained the possible parking problems in the Northgate
area when parallel parking is installed instead of the slant parking now used.
He presented a memo from the traffic engineer concerning this matter.
City Manager Bardell also presented a memo from the Fire Chief making equipment
requests for the new budget year.
Councilman Ringer said that the no parking sign on Jersey by Dexter needs to be replaced-
again.

Councilman Boughton told the Council of the county wide beautification program
coming up in April.
Mayor Bravenec listed several persons who had made contributions to the City in
the past and were being considered for an honor of having a park named after them.
Agenda Item No. 6--Adjourn.
The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
