MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Halter, Councilmen Ringer, Boughton, Dozier, Kelly, Jones, Runnels, City Manager Bardell, City Secretary Schroeder, Purchasing Agent Weddle, Assistant City Engineer Smith, Adminiatrative Analyst Albrecht, Assistant City Manager, Finance Van Dever MEMBERS ABSENT: None VISITORS PRESENT: See guest register Agenda Item No. 1--Council Concerns and Liaison Reports. Councilman Boughton asked about the progress of the Civic Center. September 1 will be the earliest date for use by the City. Emmett Trant will be the architect. Councilman Boughton also voiced a concern about damages to the streets by the shuttle buses. Councilman Kelly asked about the procedure for removing abandoned vehicles. Mayor Halter said that the Council needs to proceed with consideration of a mass transit system. Wes Harper, TAMUArchitecture Department, addressed the Council concerning Federal Energy regulations. Bob Henry, Engineering Extension Service, said that his office is available to help the City with energy regulations. Larry Degelman, TAMU Architecture Department, also answered questions of the Council concerning energy matters. Mayor Halter appointed an Energy Conservation Committee consisting of Councilmen Ringer, Chairman, Councilmen Jones and Runnels to discuss these matters with the staff and make a recommendation to the Council. Agenda Item No. 2--Discussion of 1980-1981 Revenue Sharing aqd Oper~tin§ Budget. City Manager Bardell explained the ranking procedure of the decision packages. The Council discussed several decision packages and possibilities of funding these including: apparatus operators, mapping, ordinance codification and possible pay raises for police and fire personnel, and equipment and furniture for the new fire substation. Agenda Item No. 3--Adjourn. Mayor Halter declared the meeting adjourned.
