Agenda Item No. 1 -- Joint meeting of the City Council and the A&M Consolidated
School Board o,f Tr.us. te, es, _to hear League qf Women ?ot. ers' 'p~resentation of re, cpmme.n, dat, ions
on w~ikwa~s and bikepaths in the City.,
Mrs. Ann Hazen of the League of Women Voters presented background and methods used
in preparation in the study.
Mrs. Jane Sielken summarized regulations applicable to bicycle operations and a
review of ordinances now in effect concerning sidewalks.
Mrs. Sielken made a presentation defining various types of bikeways and bikepaths
as well as methods of signing them for safety.
Mrs. Sielken presented a set of slides showing existing bikeways in the City and
offering recommendations to improve safety and maintenance.
Mrs. Hazen presented the general recommendations arrived at as a result of the study.
Mrs. Barry, Mrs. Hazen and Mrs. Sielken presented a series of maps graphically showing
the results of the survey and the League's recommendations for bikepath and sidewalk
locations.
Mmyor Holt thanked the League of Women Voters and commended them for their efforts
in preparation of the study.
Agenda Item No. 2 -- Executive session to discuss land acquisition.
Mayor Holt called the meeting into executive session.
Agenda Item No. 3 -- Adjourn.
Mayor Holt called the meeting to open session.
Councilman Halter moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Bell and unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned.
