Special City Council Meeting
June 27, 1974

MEMBERS PRESENT- Mayor Pro~-Tem Brison, Councilmen Adams, Bravenec, Dale,
Dozier, and Gardner; City Manager Bardell; City Planner
Bill Koehler.
MEMBERS ABSENT- Mayor Holt.

Agenda Item .Np. 1 - Hear visitors. No visitors spoke when asked if anyone
desired to do so. - -' ~
Agen_da Item No. 2 y Consideration of Ordinance No. 928, an ordinance adopting
the _b;udget for the fiscal yea~r of 1974-75._ Councilman Dale moved the adoption
of Ordinance No. 928. Councilman' ;Br'avenec seconded the motion. Councilman
Bravenec moved an amendment to add the R.S.V.P. group to the Budget Genaral
Fund, Miscellaneous Account in the amount of $1,000.00. Councilman Gardner
seconded the motion. Councilmen Dozier, Gardner and Bravenec voted "yes"
and Councilmen Dale and Adams voted "no" on the amendment. The vote was
unanimous on the adoption of the budget for 1974-75.
A discussion on future inclusion of deserving groups which did serve the
citizens of College Station was held. Councilman Dozier suggested that contingent
funds made available by motion, rather than budget line items, be the vehicle
of support.
Agenda Item N0_.- 3 - Consid. er. ation of..O_rd~inanc_~ No. 929, _an ordin, ance levying
the taxes setting the Ad Valorem Tax rate for 1974-75. Councilman Dale moved,
Counnilman Adams seconded and the ordinance was approved unanimously.
Agenda Item No. 4- Discussion concerning proposed contract for Phase III of
701 Plan. A discussion was held regarding this Phase III. Councilman Gardner
suggested that the segment on Parks and Recreation be deleted and the
Administration and Operation segment be reincluded. The City Manager was
instructed to prepare background material and ask Charles Pinnell to meet
with the Council at the next meeting to discuss this matter.
Agenda Item No. 5 - Consideration of Workmen's Compensation Coverage. Council-
man Dozier moves that the Mayor Pro-Tem be authorized to sign the interlocal
agreement for provision of Workmen's Compensation Coverage through the Texas
Municipal League. Councilman Gardner seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous.
Agenda Item No. 6 - Consideration of Ordinance No. 930, an ord_inance calli_ng for
a public hearing on the question of rezoning a 5.00 acre tract of land in the Richard
Carter League from Single Family Residential District, District R-lC, to Apartment
Building District, District R-3. Councilman Gardner moved the adoption of
the Ordinance. Councilman Dozier seconded the motion. The status of a park
dedication adjacent to this tract was discussed. The City Planner will report on
this park status. Councilmen Gardner suggested that future publi~ hearing

notices be prefaced with a general description as opposed to legal
description.
Agenda Item No. 7 - Other business. There was no other business.
Agenda Item No. 8 - Adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 5'50 P.M.
