Emergency Session of City Council
August 30, 1974
5'00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor O.M. Holt; Councilman Bravenec, Brison, Dozier, Dale,
Gardner; City Manager Bardell; Director of Public Works
Dulaney; Assistant Director of Public Works Ford; City
Attorney Lewis.
MEMBERS ABSENT- Councilman Adams.
The meeting was called to order at 5-08 P.M.
Agenda Item No. 1-- Hear visitors. No one spoke.
Agenda Item No. 2-- Discuss pendi.ng li. tigat, i. qn. The meeting was called into
closed session to discuss litigation. City Manager Bardell and City Attorney
Lewis briefed the council on the suit brought against 12 former and present
city employees.
A~genda Item No. 3 -- The meeting was called into open session. Councilman Dale
moves and Councilman Bravenec seconds that the City Council of the City of College
Station recognizes its responsibility to its officers and employees, both present
and former; acting in their official capacities as agents of the City of College
Station, and does retain the firm of Sears and Burns to represent the interests
of the officers and employees, both present and former, acting in their official
capacities as agents of the City of College Station in the matter of a suit identified
as Civil Action File No. 74-H-1071 in the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Texas, Houston Division. Councilman Dozier abstained from
the vote. Mayor Holt, Councilmen Dale, Gardner, Brison and Bravenec voted yes.
The motion carried.
Agenda Item No. 4 -- The meeting called into closed session to discuss property
acquisition.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
