The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Mayor Hervey. Mayor Hervey
introduced Mr. Gaylerd Moulder and Mr. Sartain of the United States Post Office Dept.
Mr. Sartain is the Postmaster in charge of the College Station Post Office. Mr.
Moukl~ and Mr. Sartain discussed at length the post office department and its
problems and how they hoped to work them out in order to provide better service.
On motion by Councilman Adams, seconded by Councilman Dale, Ordinance No.
855, an ordinance ordering a general municipal election in the City of College
Station on Tuesday, April 3, 1973, for the election of three councilmen; fixing the
time, place and manner of holding the election and appointing judges and clerks
thereof, was unanimously passed and approved.
It was unanimously agreed to use the voting machines in this general election
to be held in April. City Manager Ran Boswell stated that Mr. Bill McCloud
would come out to the city hall to give instructicns on the operation of the machines.
The Council reviewed the list of people for the Citizens Advisory Committee and
added several names to the list. It was agreed that more work needed to be done
on this item.
As there was no other business to discuss, the meeting was
to call.
