Lindsay; City Manager Ran Boswell; City Attorney James Dozier; City Engineers George Ford and North Bardell; and Administrative Secretary Nancy Reeves Councilmen Fred Brison, C. A. Bonnen and Don Dale See Guest Register The meeting was called to order at 4:45 P.M. by Mayor Hervey. Concerning agenda item no. 1, the Council unanimously endorsed the following letter dated August 7, 1972, ad- dressed to Mr. Richard Smith from City Manager Ran Boswell. Mr. Richard A. Smith, Trustee 1507 S. Texas Avenue Bryan, Texas 77801 Dear Mr. Smith: This is with reference to our conversation last week concerning the relocation of a 20-inch water main that runs through a 13-acre tract of land located at the northeast corner of Tarrow Street and University Drive. This water main could be relocated by the owner of the property under the following conditions: le At owner's expense, the City will permit relocation of the 20-inch water main in accordance with the City's specifications so that it falls in the Tarrow Street right-of-way or in a new easement along and parallel to said Tarrow Street right-of-way or other location mutually acceptable to the City and the owner. ge Service to the City of College Station shall not be interrupted except for short periods of time as determined by the City to be safe and permit continued service to the City for its storage facilities. Se The City would abandon the present easement occupied by said 20-inch water main when the substitute relocated main is in service. The City will execute such instruments as necessary to achieve this. On motion by Councilman Adams, seconded by Councilman Lindsay, the City Manager was authorized to write the following letter to Mr. Richard Smith. 01495 Minutes Special City August 11, 1972 4:45 P.M. Texas Avenue Bryan, Texas 77801 Dear Mr. Smith: The College Station City Council, at a special meeting this afternoon, officially approved the relocation of a 20-inch water main that runs through a 13-acre tract of land located at the northeast corner of Tarrow Street and University Drive, in mcordance with the City's specifications so that it falls into a new easement along and parallel to said Tarrow Street. On motion by Councilman Radeleff, seconded by Councilman Lindsay, the City Council authorized the Mayor to sign the Texas Highway Department plans for improving High- way 6 from Jersey Street south. Councilman Adams voted "no" stating that there needed to be plans included for the lowering of the hill on Highway 6. The meeting was unanimously adjourned, subject to call.
