HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/21/1967 - Special Minutes - City CouncilNOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL OF CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZOS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that I hereby call a special meeting of the Council of the City of College Station, Texas, to be held at the City Hall of said City at 7 o'clock P.M. Daylight Saving Time, on the 21st day of August, 1967, for the purpose of receiving bids for water lines and meter stations, and pump station and reservoir for said City. Rhodes hosprim 01016 C/ C7 MINUTES CITY OF COLLEGE STATION SPECIAL MEETING August 21, 1967 Members Present: Mayor pro tem Adams; Councilmen Rhodes, Boyett, Rosprim, and Cooley; City Manager Boswell; City Attorney Dillon. A special meeting of the City Council was called for the purpose of receiving bids for water lines and meter stations, and pump station and reser- voir for said city, Project No. WS - 5 - 44 - 0056. The meeting was called to order by Mayor pro tem Adams at 7 o'clock P. M. in the Council Room of the College Station City Hall. Mayor pro tem Adams welcomed the visitors to the special council meet- ing. Mr. Hunter, of Homer Hunter Associates, also acknowledged the welcome. Mr. Boyett made the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approve Addendum No. 1 dated August 8, 1967, Addendum No. 2 dated August 16, 1967, and Addendum No. 3 dated August 18, 1967, and make them a part of the plans and specifications. Councilman Rhodes seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The bids for the water line and meter station, and the pump station and reservoir were opened and read. Mr. George Feagan read aloud all of the received bids. After all of the bids were opened and received, the low bidder on the water line and meter station was H. J. Hogan with a bid of $557, 970. 89. The low bidder for the pump station and reservoir was Vance and Thurmond with a bid of $236, 750. These were base bids with no deductions. Mayor pro tem Adams and Mr. Hunter conversed over the bids. Councilman Rhodes asked Mr. Hunter to explain the five alternates to the bids. Mayor pro tem Adams asked City Manager Boswell to place these items on the Agenda for the next council meeting. Councilman Boyett made the motion to refer the bids to Hunter Associates for further study and tabulation. Councilman Rhodes seconded the motion. The motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Boyett to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 subject to call.
