Visitors present: R. Moyer I( Minutes of previous meeting were approved. On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, City Ld Secretary Manning and Councilman. Holleman were excused from this meeting. (f) < On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, H. J. UJ Hogan was awarded the bid for sanitary sewer lines on Ashburn Avenue in Ct.. D_ the amount of $11829.70. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Holt, the city manager was authorized to advertise for bids for traffic signals for the intersection of Highway 6 and Jersey Street according to plans and spec- ifications of the Highway Department. CIO On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Orr, the city manager was given authority to explore the possibility of securing right- of-way to connect Jersey Street with .9&M University Farm Road west of the Southern Pacific railroad tracks along with the possibility of securing assistance from the university in the form of right-of-way and finances in improving Jersey Street from Highway 6 to FM 2154. On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Orr, the city manager was instructed to arrange for a meeting with Homer A. Hunter Associates, Ernest Brown, and the council on Thursday, August 5, 1965, to discuss the water program and to use the data collected to present the city with a proposed bond issue. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Holt, that the council appoint the seventh member of the Industrial Development Committee at this meeting, the vote was four to two that the appoint- ment be delayed until such time as all members of the council may be present.
