Minutes of previous meetings were approved.
CL CL On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Council-
man Orr and City Secretary Manning were excused from this meeting.
The Commissioners Court of Brazos County met with the council for a
0 brief discussion of the question of the courtts participation in the cost
0 of right-of-way for the proposed grade separation at FMs 60 and 2154. No
formal action was taken, it being agreed to meet again when more information
is available.
On motion by Councilman Holleman, seconded by Councilman Holt, Ordinance
No. 414, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of rights-of-way time warrants,
was passed and approved,
On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi-
nance No. 415, an ordinance rezoning Lots 1, 2, southwest 15 feet of 3 and
a strip of land 7j feet by 115 feet along southeast end of said Lots 1, 2
and 15 feet of 3, Block 1, College Park Addition, presently zoned as District
No. 1, First Dwelling House District, to District No. 3, Apartment House
District, was passed and approved.
Mr. Boswell was instructed to confer with the Highway Department
concerning the type of signal they would approve at the intersection of
Highway 308 and FM 60 if the traffic circle was removed,
Mr. Boswell is to discuss with Marion Pugh certain street improvements
which he has requested.
Q On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Holt, the city
manager was authorized to proceed with the improvements to Holick Drive
V according to the specifications of and under the supervision of the city
LIj engineer, provided A & M Consolidated School will participate to the extent
V) of pay the cost of the curbs and gutters.

0- On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, the bid
of Nelson Electric Supply Company in the amount of $5,481.57 for the
electrical supplies which will be used to serve Redmond Terrace Shopping
Z) Center, was accepted.

Mr. Jack Upham appeared before the council as a representative of the
College Station Recreational Council, He discussed plans of the council to
make a long-range study concerning the recreational needs and facilities of
the community for a period of 25 years.
On motion by Councilman Holleman, seconded by Councilman Holt, the
College Station Recreational Council was authorized to proceed with a long-
range study which may include approximately 25 acres of land behind the
cemetery as a possible location for a city park and other recreational
O facilities,
The council unanimously expressed to Mr. Upham its appreciation of the
work of the Recreational Council and commended the council for the work it

Mr. D. A. Anderson was appointed to succeed Dr. Charles LaMotte as a
a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
