a Minutes of previous meetings were approved.

�a On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Holleman, Phillip
Goode, City Judge, John L. Sandstedt, City Attorney, and Dr. T. 0. Walton,
Jr., City Health Officer, were reappointed to their present offices for a
two year term to run concurrently with that of the mayor.
UJ A public hearing was called on the question of rezoning Lot B, Tauber
Addition. There being no objections the mayor declared the hearing closed.

0- On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded, by Councilman Rosprim, Ordinance
0?3 No. 393, an ordinance rezoning Lot B, Tauber Addition, presently zoned as
District No. 1, First Dwelling House District, to District No. 3, Apartment
House District, was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Holleman, Ordi-
nance No. 394, an ordinance approving and adopting plans and specifications
for improvement of certain portions of Francis Drive, Bolton Avenue, Munson
Avenue, Park Place and Caudill Street, and directing advertisement of bids
for such improvements, was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Holt, Ordinance
No. 395, an ordinance approving and adopting plans and specifications for
improvement of certain portions of Park Place, and directing advertisement
of bids for such improvements, was passed and approved.
The question of rezoning certain areas in Redmond Terrace Addition was
referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Holleman, Messrs.
J. W. Sorenson, J. B. Hervey, Charles LaMotte, Charles F. Richardson,
William A. Smith and E. E. Burns were reappointed to the Planning and Zoning
Commission; the vacancy created by Mr. Holleman's being elected to the city
council is to be filled by someone with training in architecture or land-
scape architecture.
On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Orr, Dr. E. E.
Burns was named chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
On motion by Councilman Holleman, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, Mr;
I Robert F. White was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Appointments to other boards were held over until the next regular or
special meeting of the council.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Boyett, a resolution
declaring that certain street improvements have been completed and accepted
by the city was approved and made a part of these minutes.
The question of a quit claim deed for a 20 -foot utility easement on
Lots 2 and 3, Block 6, Redmond Terrace Addition, First Installment, was
deferred pending a report of the Planning and Zoning Commission relative
to the rezoning of certain areas in that addition.
Mrs. Phillip Goode made a brief report to the council of the activities
of the Brazos County Youth Counseling Service. Her report covered various
activities of the past year and outlined briefly the program for the ensuing
year. Included in her report was the proposed budget for the year July 1,
1964 - June 30, 1965.
Mr. Gene Sutphen reviewed the program of the College Station Recreational
Council and presented a request that the contribution of the city to the
council for the year 196.-65 be increased to $3500. with the understanding
that this is to be an increase of $1000. for the year 1964-65 only.
At the suggestion of Councilman Rhodes, the council requested the city
manager to file as the occassion warrants it a brief statement of the status
of various questions and topics which might appropriately be brought to the
attention of the council at that time; such statement to accompany the agenda
for council meetings. The council also directed that the mayor prepare at
least biannual statements of city affairs for general distribution to the
citizens of College Station.
The council adjourned subject to call.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, by Ordinances No. 286 dated the 28th day of September,
1959; No, 319 dated the 6th day of July, 1961; No. 320 dated the 6th day of
July, 1961; No. 350 dated the 20th day of July, 1962; and No. 375 dated the
24th day of June, 1963, which said Ordinances are hereby referred to and made
a part hereof for all purposes, the City of College Station authorized the improve-
ment of Walton and Kyle Streets under the said Ordinance No. 286; the improve-
ment of Foster, Moss, Church and Thomas Streets under Ordinance No, 319;
the improvement of Second, Cross, Stasney, Cherry and Tauber Streets under
Ordinance No. 320; the improvement of Fairview Street under Ordinance No.
350; the improvement of Main, Dexter, Francis, Ashburn, Shetland and
Pershing Streets under Ordinance No. 375, and levied assessments on pro-
perty owners abutting such streets, and provided for the issuance of assignable
certificates in evidence thereof, and
WHEREAS, the said improvements on Walton and Kyle Streets were
completed on the 22nd day of September, 1960; and the improvements on. Foster,
Moss, Church and Thomas Streets were completed on the 8th day of May, 1962;
and the improvements on Second, Cross, Stasney, Cherry and Tauber Streets
were completed on the 8th day of May, 1962; and the improvements on Fairview
Street were completed on the 10th day of October, 1962; and the improvements
on Main, Dexter, Francis, Ashburn, Shetland and Pershing Streets were
completed on the 17th day of February, 1964, which improvements were
completed in a good and workmanlike manner and which fact has been duly
authenticated by the City Manager of the City of College Station, Texas,
BE IT RESOLVED that the said improvements of Walton, Kyle,
Foster, Moss, Church, Thomas, Second, Cross, Stasney, Cherry, Tauber,
Fairview, Main, Dexter, Francis, Ashburn, Shetland and Pershing Streets,
are declared to be completed as of the dates indicated, that said improve-
ments are hereby accepted by the City and the mayor and the city secretary
are hereby directed to proceed with the issuance of assignable certificates
evidencing such improvements and to further proceed with the collection of
all unpaid assessments upon such abutting property.
Passed this 27th day of April, 1964, upon motion of Councilman
Orr seconded by Councilman Boyett
