Mayor Langford's request that he be excused from this meeting was
granted.
�Ca On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Mr.
Nelson Durst was selected to audit the affairs of the city for the fiscal

year ending June 30, 1963.

W A. D. Folweiler appeared before the council to ask their cooperation in
07 securing methods for secret ballots in elections for the citizens of College
< Station and Bryan. On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman
Lai
O_ Rhodes, the mayor and city manager were authorized to contact the Brazos
cd County Commissioners Court to see what can be done to secure booths for
casting secret ballots.
(� A public hearing was called on the question of rezoning Lots 11 to 14
Q inc., Block 3, College Hills Estates, and Lots 13 to 20, inc., Block 9,
m College Hills Estates, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District,
to District No. /+) First Business District. There were no objections and
the mayor declared the hearing closed. On motion by Councilman Sorrels,
seconded by Councilman Rhodes, Ordinance No. 370, an ordinance rezoning
this property, was passed and approved.
A public hearing was called on the question of rezoning a tract of
land 4271 X 1511 in the Gorzycki Addition which is bounded on the north-
west and southwest sides by A. & M. College property and on the northeast
side by Meadowland Street, from District No. 2, Second Dwelling House
District, to District No. 3, Apartment House District. There were no
objections and the mayor declared the hearing closed. On motion by Council-
man Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordinance No. 371, an ordinance
rezoning this property, was passed and approved.
A public hearing was called on the proposed budget for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1963. The hearing was declared closed. On motion by Council-
man Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, Ordinance No. 372, an ordinance
adopting a budget for the 1963-64 fiscal year and authorizing expenditures
Oas therein provided, was passed and approved.

On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi-
nance No. 373, a tax levying ordinance, was passed and approved.

On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the
city manager was authorized to prepare the agenda at his discretion. No

matter for discussion will be accepted after 12 noon on 'Wednesday preceding
the regular council meeting unless it is considered an emergency by the
city manager.
