Toland, Frank W. Sheppard, Read Wipprecht, Mrs. Ben H. Evans, Jack Upham On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Orr, Councilman Sorrels and City Secretary Manning were excused from this meeting. On motion by Councilman Rosprim, seconded by Councilman Orr, the city manager was authorized to make payment of $1,000. on the $8,000. note at the College Station State Bank and renew the note for $7,000. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Orr, Ordinance No. 365, an ordinance providing for a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. May 27, 1963, rezoning Lots 11 to 14, inc.,Block 3, College Hills Estates and Lots 13 to 20, inc., Block 9, College Hills Estates, from District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business District, was passed and approved. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Boyett, Ordinance No. 366, an ordinance ordering the improvement of Francis Drive from Munson Avenue to Carter's Grove subdivision, was passed and approved. Mr. Frank W. Sheppard appeared before the council and reported on the work of the Brazos County Youth Counseling Service. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the city manager was instructed to consider the possibility of increasing the sum of support given the service from $3,600. to $4,800. when the budget for the next fiscal year is being prepared. Mr. Jack Upham appeared before the council to discuss traffic along Dominik Lane, maintainance on Munson Avenue, and other miscellaneous items. On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Orr, the council determined that the condition of College Main North is such that the need for improvements thereto constitutes an emergency and directed the city attorney to prepare the necessary ordinances ordering improvements thereon. Mr. Read Wipprecht appeared before the council to discuss the install- ation of directional signs to churches within the city.
