RESOLUTION NO. 07-13-81-6
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO IMPT.~ A CRIME PREV~V~ION UNIT
WHEREAS, the dynamic growth of the City of College Station in recent
years has not been without atteD~_a_nt problsms pertaining to Crimes
~ainst Persons and Crimes Against Property, and;
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Govenor, has
assisted the City of College Station in establishing a crime prevention
unit within the Police Depa~.~'ent to cope with the attend_~nt rise in
crimes against property and persons, and;
WHEREAS, a need continues in the Police Department for a specially
trained crime prevention unit to instruct the citizens of College
Stati~ through seminars, security surveys, means and ways they can
employ to lessen their chances from becoming a victim of cne of these
crimes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CDT.T.~GE STATION, TEXAS, at its n~eting on the 13th day of
August , 1981, that:
The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to make application to the Cr/minal Justice
Division, Office of the GoverDDr, for a grant of Forty-
Four Thousand and Four tIundred Sixty Three Dollars ($44,463)
to support the impl~nentation of the Crime Prevention Unit
with two patrol officers.

The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to accept such grant award should it be
tendered.
3. This Resolution beccmes effective upon adoption and its
