WHEREAS, the City of College Station has determined the
necessity of expanding existing municipal administrative
offices now located at 1006 Texas Avenue South in the City of
College Station, Texas; and
WHEREAS, there is insufficient additional space on land
presently owned by the City to construct the planned facilities.
and to provide for parking and access thereto; and
WHEREAS, the City Council having determined that it is ne,
to obtain the property described on the attached Exhibit A to
this Resolution, and that the public need necessitates the
acquisition of same in such a manner as to make the property
available for lawful use as the site of future municipal
buildings and other public facilities, including parking space
and access thereto;
NO~7, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City
of College Station that the property described on Exhibit A .
attached hereto shall be acquired by tke City and the reasonablet
cash market value of same shall be determined and paid according,
to law, either by voluntary purchase or by condemnation, and
that the City Manager, the Mayor, and the City Attorney are
authorized to take any and all necessary actions to obtain
and pay for such property, including the marketable title
thereto, free and clear of any restrictions or covenants
inconsistent with the use of same for public buildings and
parking facilities to be used for municipal purposes. This
resolution expressly authorizes condemnation proceedings and .~
other necessary litigation incident to the purpose herein set
forth.
