Subsections (a) and (b) of Article 3.08 of the Election
Code of the State of Texas, provide that the city council
shall fix the rate of pay for election judges and clerks
in city elections; and
Article 3.08 o£ the Election Code also establishes that
the amount set by the city council shall not exceed $4
per hour for election judges and clerks, and further,
shall not exceed $25 for the additional service performed
by a presiding judge who delivers the election returns; and
in addition to the hours of work performed at the polling
place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the day of the
election, no judge or clerk shall be paid for more than one
hour of work before the polls open, nor for more than two
hours after the polls close or after voting is concluded,
whichever is the later; and
the City of College Station and the College Station Indepen-
dent School District have agreed that elections for city
officers and elections for school trustees shall be held
jointly and together, and further, this agreenent was
approved by the City Council on the 14th day of February,
1980, per Resolution No. 02-14-80-7; and

the rate of pay for election judges mud clerks in city
elections be fixed at $4 per hour; and,
an amount of $25 will be paid to the presiding judge for
delivering the election returns.
