RESOLUTION NO. 5-12-83-9
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO IMPLEMENT A CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the dynamic growth of the City of College Station in
recent years has not been without attendant problems
pertaining to Crimes Against Persons and Crimes
Against Property; and,
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor
has assisted the City of College Station in estab-
lishing a Police Records and Identification Bureau
within the Police Department to cope with the atten-
dant rise in the number of reports being filed and
handled, and,
WHEREAS, a need continues in the Police Department for a
specially equipped bureau within the Department to -~
record and process in a fast, accurate and effective
manner the increasing number of reports being filed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT~
OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, at its meeting on the 28th day of ,
April, 1983, that: ,,
1. The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to make application to the Criminal
Justice Division, Office of the Governor, for a grant
of $13,457 to support the implementation of the Polio,
Records and Identification Bureau with the purchase
of equipment.
2. The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to accept such grant award should it be
tendered.
3. This Resolution becomes effective upon adoption and
its recording in the Minutes of the City Council is
ordered.
