SPECIAL WORKSHOP CITY COUNCIL MEETING
TUESDAY, MAY 3, 1983

Agenda Item No. 1 - Council Concerns.
No council concerns.
A__genda Item No. 2 - Presentation of budget to City Council.
Asst. City Manager/Finance Director VanDever presented a summary of the FY
1983-84 proposed operating budget. He stated that the total operating
budget proposed for FY 1983-84 is $38,632,813.00. He indicated that this
represents a twenty-six percent increase over FY 1982-83 and a forty
percent increase over FY 1981-82. He attributed the budget increase to
growth in College Station, cost of power, inflation, and increase in debt
service. He summarized each fund in the budget.
After further discussion by the council and the city staff, the council
asked that the discussion of the basic budget be continued at the Wednesday
Workshop Meeting, May llth.
Councilman McIlhaney suggested that the Comprehensive goals and objectives
be included on the Workshop agenda.
