AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTION 1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A
NEW SECTION 105.6(c) TO BE ADDED TO THE BUILDING CODE, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS that Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended
by the addition of Section B (1.1) as follows:
Section 105.6(c) shall be added to the Building Code, and shall
read as follows:
Every project for which plans have been filed, which
show on their face the seal of a registered architect
or engineer shall bear the registration number of such
design professional and shall be signed in ink across
the seal, and shall also be dated. Before a
Certificate of Occupancy shall be issued for any such
structure, a registered professional architect must
certify completion in compliance with all plans and
specifications submitted under an architect's seal, and
a registered professional engineer shall certify
completion in compliance with all plans and
specifications submitted under an engineer's seal.
The Building Official shall refuse to accept for filing
any plans or specifications tendered which do not bear
the seal of a registered professional engineer if the
drawings and underlying data are the product of or
involve the practice of engineering as defined in the
Texas Engineering Practice Act.
II.
It is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from
and after its passage in accordance with the City Charter of the
City of College Station.
