HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-1407 - Ordinance - 02/10/1983ORDINANCE NO. 1407 AN ORDINANCE REZONING TWO TRACTS OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE ROBERT STEVEN- SON AND CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUES IN BRAZOS COUNTY, COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE, FROM AGRICULTURE- OPEN SPACE DISTRICT A-O TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1 AND APARTMENTS MEDIUM DENSITY DISTRICT R-5. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; WHEREAS, the City Council day, Febz'ua~"y 10~ 1983 within the city limits: held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thurs- on the question of rezoning certain areas AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the foi]owing two (2) tracts of land all lylng and being situated in the Robert Stevenson and Crawford Burnett Leagues, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, and being more ful]y described by metes and bounds as follows: TRACT NO. 1 (Tract A Ponderosa Place section two) All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Robert Steven- son and Crawford Burnett Leagues in Brazos County, Texas, being a part of that 5.35 acre tract conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by deed recorded in Volume ~29 Page 772 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and a part of that 10.O0 acre tract des- cribed in deed to Area Progress Corporation recorded in Volume 365, Page 13 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING in the southeast line of Southwood Valley section ~-A an addition to the City of College Station, Brazos County, Texas, according to plat of record in Vol- ume 3~5, Page 351 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, at the most southerly corner of Lot 2 in Block 20. THENCE, N h2°3~m17"E - 5hO.61 feet along the southeast line of Southwood Valley section h-A to the most westerly corner of that 0.62 acre tract conveyed to Tri-Supply by deed recorded in Volume 33N, Page 138 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; THENCE S ~O°39'13"E - 179.~5 feet along the southwest line of the said 0.62 acre tract and continuing to an angle point; THENCE S 17°22'13"E - 539.03 feet; THENCE S 57°h7~32"W - 287.19 feet to an extension of the northeast llne of Longmire Drive; THENCE N ~8°58~6'W - 280.61 feet along an extension of the northeast line of Longmlre Drive to a P.C. of a curve to the right (R=98~.22~); THENCE along the arc of said curve continuing along an extension of the northeast line of Longmlre Drive through a central angle of 15°57~O6'' to a P.C.C.: THENCE along the arc of a second curve (R=70~.51~) through a central angle of 1°28~ to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 6.h6 acres of land more or less, from Agrlculture-Open Space District A-O to General Commercial District C-i. Ordinance No. I40T page 2 TRACT NO. 2 (Tract D Block 2 Ponderosa Place section two) AIl that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Robert Steven- son League and the Crawford Burnett League in Brazos County, Texas, being a part of that 26.46 acre tract conveyed to the Tiller Corporation by deed recorded in Volume 353, page 714 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING in the northwest llne of the said 26.46 acre tract at the most southerly corner of Southwood Terrace section one. an addition to the City of College Station, Texas, according to plat of record in Volume 353, page 319 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas. THENCE S 26°55~05"E - 252.32 feet throuth the said 26.46 acre tract to the north- west line of a proposed street or road; THENCE N 78°47~23"E - 53h.95 feet along the northwest line of said proposed street or road to the P.C. of a curve to the left THENCE along the arc of said curve continuing along the northwest llne of the said proposed street or road through a central angle of 2 57 24 , THENCE N 14°10'02"W - 249.37 feet through the said 26.46 acre tract to a point; THENCE N to a point on THENCE S acre tract to 40°39'13"W - 485.50 feet continuing through the said 26.46 acre tract the northwest line of the said 26.46 acre tract; 42°34'17'' W - 342.79 feet along the northwest line of the said 26.46 an angle point; THENCE S 17°18'19"W - 259.07 feet continuing along the northwest line of the said 26.46 acre tract to the POINT OF BEGINHING and containing 7.02 acres of land more or less, from Agriculture-Open Space District A-O to Apartments Medium Density District And, it is ordained that sald changes shall become effective immediately.
