HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-1401 - Ordinance - 12/21/1982ORDINANCE NO. 1401 AN ORDINANCE REZOIIING THREE TRACTS OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE, ABSTRACT NO. q6, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL OISTRICT R-1 TO AOMINISTRATIVE-PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT A-P, AND GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-I. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council Tuesda, December 21, the city limits; held a public hearing in the City Hail aL 7:00 P.M. on 1982, on the question of rezoning certain areas within ARID, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the fol)owlng: To rezone or change the classification oF the following three (3) tracts of land, all tying and being situated in the Morgan Rector League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas , and being more particularly described as follows: TRACT NO. I Being an 8.000 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the tlorgan Rector League, Abstract No. ~6, Brazos County, Texas, and being part of a 13.O7 acre tract conveyed to Horris F. Krenek by deed recorded in Volume 470, Page 33q, Deed Records, Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described as Follows: BEGINNING at a concrete monument located on the southern right of way line of South- west Parkway and marking the northwesternmost corner of the above mentioned 23.33 acre tract; THENCE N 4h°39~q9' E along the southern right of way llne of Southwest Parkway for a dlsLance of 249.70~ to an iron rod for a corner; THENCE S 36°30'13'. E for a distance of 577.69' to an iron rod for a corner; THENCE S 8°40~15' E for a distance of 1~6.31' to an iron rod for an angle; THENCE S 2q°28~26' E for a distance of 50.72' to an iron rod for a corner; THENCE S 4~°q7'10'' W for a distance of 6.00' along the southeast ]ine of the 23.33 acre tract to an iron rod for an angle; THENCE S qq°qS'11" W along the southeast llne of said 23.33 acre tract for a distance of 51.67~ to an iron rod for a corner; THENCE N 45°10'22'' ~ along the southwest llne of the 23.33 acre tract for a distance of 735.51' to a concrete monument which is also the POINT OF BEGINNING containing 3.098 acres oF land more or Tess, from SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-1 to ADMINISTRATIVE- PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT A-P. Agenda Item No. 3 Councilman Ringer moved to remove the proposed ordinance relating to Block B of the reserved tract of Post Oak Forest Subdivision from the table. Councilman Nemec seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Councilman Runnels moved to approve Ordinance No. 1400 rezoning the above tract. Councilman Prause seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Agenda Item No. 6 - Reconsideration of a request to rezone ap~roximatel~ 16.168 acres on the south side of Southwest Parkway approximately 600 feet east 6f Texas Avenue from Single Family Residential District R-1 to General Co.,L,ercial District C-1 and Administrative-Professional District A-P. Ap~Ication is in the name of Jan-Wic Homes, Inc. [82-133] -- City Planner Mayo presented the item. He stated that the tracts are approximately 8 acres each. The staff and P&Z recommended approval of the request as submitted. Applicants for this rezoning will be working with the city and surrounding property owners on signage and curb cuts in the area. Councilman Runnels moved to remove the item from the table. Councilman Nemec seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Agend~ Item No. 7 - Reconsideration of an Ordinance rezoning the abov~ tract. {301 After further discussion by the council, Councilman Nemec moved to approve the rezoning request and to include that sign usage and curb cuts in the area be limited to staff recommendation. Councilman Boughton seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Agenda Item No. 8 - Consideration of amending Ordinance 690 relating to Subdivision regula~f6ns. Director of Capital Improvements Ash presented the item. He indicated that the current ordinance states that the city participates in payment of installation costs of street right-of-way in excess of (60) and street paving widths in excess of (39). The proposed ordinance would revise that the (70) feet width for street right-of-way and (47) feet for street paving widths.
