The Council discussed various city boards and commissions. A
concern was that the Ambulance Advisory Committee was no longer
necessary. It was also decided that the City Affairs Committee
of the Council would monitor the ColleGe Station Library opera-
tion. The charge of other committees, particularly the Teen
Center and Community Center Advisory Boards, were to be examined
and modified if necessary to insure that they are advisory and
not management.
The Council noted a need to have orientation meetings for city
boards and commissions. It was suGqested that the Planning and
Zoning Commission and the Zoning Board of Adjustment meet with
the Council shortly after members are appointed. The Mayor or a
councilmember should meet with each of the other boards or com-
missions. The Mayor will examine the Orientation Handbook to
bring it up-to-date.
The Council directed the City ManaGer to advertise for proposals
from enGineerinG firms desiring to provide enGineerinG services
to the City.
