BETWEEN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION AND ITAGLIO, INC. FOR
THE PUBLICATION OF A PICTORIAL HISTORY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS
WHEREAS, on the 8th of April, 1987, the City Council met in
its regular meeting and considered a proposed agree-
ment between the city and INTAGLIO, INC., for the
publication of a work to be kno%;n as A PICTORIAL
HISTORY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station,
Texas, determined that said publication would be
in the best interest of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the
City of College Station, Texas, that the Mayor is hereby
authorized to enter into the Publishing Agreement attached
hereto, with INTAGLIO, INC.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of May, 1987.

Agreement
1987 between INTAGLIO, INC., of College Station, Texas (herein-
after "PUBLISHER"); the CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; and

DEBORAH FA~ BALLIEW (hereinafter "AUTHOR"), regarding the pub-
lication of a Work provisionally entitled A Pictorial History of
College Stationr Texas.
I.
The Publisher agrees to publish the manuscript history of
Dcb~rc~ln L ~lhc~ ~
College Station written by O~ra P~rkc as a master's thesis in
the History Department of Texas A&M University with approximately
forty (40) pages of photographic plates to be tentatively
entitled A Pictorial History of College Station, Texas.
A. The Author shall provide the Publisher one complete
double-spaced, typewritten (or xeroxed) copy of the
Work, and a glossy black and white 5x7 or 8x10 copy of
all photographs attached to the original thes~s.
B. The Publisher shall have the right to edit, amend, or
annotate the Work as it deems necessary.
C. The Author grants, conveys, and assigns to the Publisher
all rights, title, and interest in and to the material
in the Work. The Author represents and warrants that
the Work will in no way be subject to any copyright,
personal, or proprietary interests by the author, Texas
A&M University, or the City of College Station.
D. In consideration of the Author's obligations and per-
formances of the services hereunder, the Publisher
agrees to pay the Author five percent (5%) of gross
receipts from the sale of all copies of the Work over
the first five hundred (500) copies sold.

II.
The CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, represented by the College
Station Sesquicentennial Committee, agrees to sponsor the publi-
cation of the Pictorial History of Colleqe Station in the follow-
ing manner:
A. The CITY OF COLLEGE STATION will pay an editorial fee of
One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) to INTAGLIO, INC., upon
the approval of this Agreement by the Author, the
Publlsher, and an a~thorlzed representative of the CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION.
B. The College Station Sesquicentennial Committee will
review the final proof or pre-publication edition of the
above Work and correct, amend, or approve any text prior
to printing. The Committee shall also submit to the
publisher not less than fifty (50) glossy, black and
white, 5x7 or 8x10 photographs from which a selection
shall be made by the Publisher for inclusion in the
published Work. A written letter authorizing printing
of the Work will be sent to the Publisher after approval
of the proof or pre-publication edition and signed by
the above mentioned (II.A) authorized representative of
the CITY OF COLLEGE STATION.
C. Upon receipt of the approval stated above, the Publisher
agrees to print not less than five hundred (500) copies
of the Work in a paper bound edition, 8x10, with glossy,
heavy bond paper, using a two-column format for text and
approximately forty (40) glossy, black and white pages
of illustrated material.
D. The CITY OF COLLEGE STATION agrees to purchase not less
than five hundred (500) copies of the Work at Ten Dol-
lars ~$10.00) Der copy, or F~ve Thousand Dollars
($5,000), to be paid within ten (10) days of delivery of
the five hundred (500) copies.

E. Additional copies of the Work which the Publisher may
offer for public sale will be offered at a list price of
not less than Twelve Dollars and Ninety-Five Cents
($12.95) each, and will be available to dealers at a
regular discount of thirty percent (30%). The Publisher
will pay the CITY OF COLLEGE STATION a royalty of ten
percent (10%) on gross receipts of the Publisher from
the sale of the Work in excess of the first five hundred
(500) copies, such royalty to be payable annually from
the date of the execution of this agreement.
F. The Publisher may assign this agreement, but only in its
entirety, subject to the approval of the CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
Agreement the day and the year first above written.
