HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-28-89-1.4 - Resolution - 09/28/1989RESOLUTION NO. 9-28-89-1.4 WHEREAS, the City of General Zuazua in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, is a city of approximately 8,500 inhabitants with a progressive leadership seeking to promote the growth and welfare of the city; and WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the City of College Station and the City of General Zauzua join together in a sister city relationship whereby each would receive from the other the benefits of international friendship; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas has determined that the exchange of culture and ideas could broaden the base of knowledge and further the welfare of the citizens of College Station. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, that this city shall participate in a program of friendship and exchange with the City of General Zuazua, and that College Station looks forward to the growth of international understanding through this association. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 28th DAY OF September , 1989 APPROVED: ATTEST: Dian ~, City Secretary 007466 RESOLUTION NO. 09-28-89-1.12 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO RENEW THE TEXAS POLITICAL SUBDIVISION WORKER'S COMPENSATION FUND CONTRACT. WHEREAS, the City's contract with the Texas Political Subdivision Worker's Compensation Fund expires October 1, 1989; WHEREAS, on September 27, 1989, the City Council met in its regular meeting and considered the renewal of the Texas Political Subdivision Worker's Compensation Fund Contract for an additional three years; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that renewal of the contract would be in the best interest of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of College Station that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the renewal of the Texas Political Subdivision Worker's Compensation Fund Contract.
