A RESOLUTION BY THE COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL CON-
SENTING TO THE FORMATION OF BRAZOS COUNTY RURAL FIRE
PREVENTION DISTRICTS NO. 1 AND NO. 4 IN THE UNINCORPO-
RATED AREAS OF COMMISSIONER'S PRECINCTS NO. 1 AND NO. 4
IN BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS ENCOMPASSING PORTIONS OF THE
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a petition by the qualified voters and
owners of taxable real property within the unincorpo-
rated areas of Commissioner's Precincts No. 1 and No. 4
for the formation of the Brazos County Rural Fire
Prevention Districts No. 1 and No. 4 has been submitted
to the Honorable County Judge of Brazos County, Texas;
WHEREAS, such Rural Fire Prevention Districts are
to be organized for the protection of life and property
from fire and or the conservation of natural resources
as provided under Section 48-D, Article III, Constitu-
tion of the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the district shall encompass certain
areas of the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City
of College Station requiring the consent of said City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of College Station, Texas, that the Mayor
is hereby authorized to execute and ratify the settle-
ment agreement attached hereto.
