The City Council met in a regular session on the evening
of November 16, 1953, with the following members present: Mayor
Langford; Councilmen Orr, Seegar and Sorrels; City Manager
Boswell and City Secretary McGinnis. Mr. George Manitza.s was
present at this meeting representing the Battalion.
CZ5 The request from Dr. F. B. Clark and most of the property
m owners in "The Kno11l1 for the relocation of an un -named street
in "The Knoll" was tabled to permit further study of the re-
location.
® Councilman Sorrels made a motion, seconded by Councilman
� Orr, that the City offer a
prize of $25.00 for the accepted
�- design of a Letterhead for the City of College Station. The
competition is open to the students of the Texas Agricultural
and Mechanical College only.
The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion.
Mayor Langford and the Council offered the following Resolution
on the recent accidental death of Michael Sorrels:
"The City Council records with deepest sympathy the
i' tragic death of Michael Sorrels, six-year-old son
of Councilman and Mrs. J. H. Sorrels, and wishes
for them that time will assuage the anguish of
their grief and leave to them the cherished memory
of one so dearly loved."

This resolution was signed by the Mayor and the City Secretary
and the seal of the City of College Station affixed thereto.
Councilman Orr raised the question about possible flood
damage to the property being erected by Mr. Eugene Rush in
College Park. Mr. Boswell reported that he had spoken to
Mr. Rush about the possibility before construction was begun.
After general discussion, the consensus of the Council was that
the City would assume no responsibility in case of damage by
flood waters, nor would the City go to any expense in correcting
any flooding situation; and that a copy of this decision should
be mailed to Mr. Rush.
