CALLED MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL
January 20, 1954
The City Council met in a called session at 9:00 A. M.,
January 20, 1954, with the following present: Mayor Langford;
Councilmen Boyett, Orr, Pugh and Seeger; City Manager Boswell
and City Secretary McGinnis.
This meeting was called to hear a report from the committee
appointed at the regular meeting held on January 18, 1954s, to
investigate the possibilities of securing an adequate site for
a Little League baseball playing field.
Councilman Pugh reported that the committee had found a
suitable area adjacent to the southwest city limits belonging
to the Hrdlicka Estate which he thought could be bought at a
reasonable price.
Councilman Orr ma&a motion, seconded by Councilman Boyett,
that the committee negotiate for the purchase of two acres
at a price satisfactory to the committee.
The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion.
