Cd M 0 00 MINUTES OF REGULAR MELTING March 23, 1959 Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Anderson, Boyett, Landiss, McCall, Orr; City Manager Boswell; City Secretary McGinnis; City Attorney Dillon. Visitors present: Ed Rivers, representing the Eagle, Sam Spence, representing the Battalion, Mrs. M.,C. Pugh, Mrs. Robert Knapp, Mr. T. J. Mattern, Mr. and Mrs. John Denison, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Rhodes. On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the expenditure of $2,950 was authorized for the purchase of a ditching machine. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the Woodson Village, second installment was referred to the City Planning Commission through the city engineer who will make any recommendations which he thinks necessary for layout or drainage. Mayor Langford reported on additional office space. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCall, the mayor was authorized to contact Mr. Richard Vrooman to develop the necessary plans and specifications and prepare an estimate of cost to be included in the budget for 1959-60. On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the mayor was authorized to appoint two councilmen to work with the city manager and city attorney for the purpose of alleviating the problems which seem to exist on Nunn Street. The mayor appointed Councilman Anderson chairman and Councilman Sorrels. The mayor appointed Councilmen Anderson and Landiss to write a letter to the people of the city outlining again the street improvement program, and to include therewith a card as a basis of indicating the wishes of the people as to the type of street they prefer; same to be circularized to the council at the earliest possible date. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson, Ordinance No. 279, an ordinance establishing six -hour parking upon both sides of Boyett Street between Farm -to -Market Road 60 and Church Street was passed, approved and ordered published.
