Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Anderson, Boyett,
D Landiss, McCall, Orr; City Manager Boswell; City Secretary McGinnis;

00 Visitors present: Mr. Ernest L. Brown, Jr., Vice -President,
Moroney, Beissner & Co., Houston, Texas, Mr. J. W. Collins, Mr. C. B.
Thames, District Engineer, Texas Highway Department, Gayle McNutt,
representing the Battalion, Jack Bowen, representing the Eagle, Mr.
M. G. Perkins, Mr. B. J. Kling, Judge Goode, Mr. V. A. Little, Capt.
and Mrs. Robert A. Knapp, and Mrs. Marion Pugh.
Councilman Sorrels was excused from this meeting.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson,
the agreement between the city and Moroney Beissner & Co. relative to
issuance of street improvement bonds was approved, and the mayor and
city secretary authorized to sign same.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson,
Ordinance No. 273, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of street
improvement bonds, etc., was passed and ordered published.

On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson,
Ordinance No. 274, an ordinance relating to speed zones on Highway 6,
was approved, with the understanding that the city will continue to co -
10 operate with officials of A & M Consolidated School in maintaining a
guard at the Jersey Street crossing during school hours.

On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the
city authorized Woodson Lumber Co. of Cameron to install certain storm
sewers in Woodson Village according to the plans, specifications, and

recommendation of the City Engineer, the city to reimburse said company

for entire cost of improvements, save and except the sum of $400, upon

the completion of the project.
On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman McCall,

City Attorney Dillon was authorized to prepare Ordinance No. 275, an

ordinance establishing one hour parking on both sides of Tauber and
Lodge streets between FM60 and Church street; said ordinance to be-
come effective upon its publication.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson,
Ordinance No. 276, an ordinance providing for the construction and
maintenance of FM60 from Highway 6 to the east city limits, was a-
dopted.

January 26, 1959
On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Anderson,
the mayor and city secretary were authorized to sign for the city the mun-
icipal construction and maintenance agreement in connection with Ordinance
No. 276.
City Attorney Dillon was requested to consider an ordinance govern-
ing food supply.
On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman McCall, the
mayor was authorized to sign for the city the Freese -Nichols agreement rel-
ative to survey for impounding water along the Navasota River, the city's
cost to be $750, payable in quarterly installments.
Mayor Langford will report at next meeting on possible expansion
of space and approximate costs.
On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Boyett,
the city manager was authorized to hire someone temporarily to type up
the codification of ordinances.
Passed and approved this the 26th day of January, 1959.
