April 10, 1959
ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF CITY ELECTION
The city council met in special session at 5:00 p.m. with the fol-
lowing present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Anderson, Boyett, Landiss,
Smith, Sorrels; City Manager Boswell and City Secretary McGinnis. Those
present constituting a quorum, among other proceedings transacted was the
following:
Councilman Sorrels introduced a resolution and order and moved its
adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Boyett, and the motion
carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the
following vote: Ayes: all present; Noes, none.

The resolution is as follows:

There came on to be considered the returns of an election held
on the 7th day of April, 1959, for the purpose of electing the

hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said returns,
duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 214

valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said elec-
tion received the following votes: For Councilmen: Ward I:
J. A. Orr 71; Ward 2: D. A. Anderson 59, Chas. Haas 50; Ward 3:

Wm. A. Smith 21, L. J. McCall 12.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said elec-
tion was given in accordance with laws, and that said election
was held in accordance with laws, and that Messrs. J. A. Orr,
D. A. Anderson, and Mm. A. Smith were duly elected Councilmen
at said election, and said above named parties are hereby de-
clared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the
taking of their oaths of office as provided by the laws of the
State of Texas.
Passed and approved this 10th day of April, 1959.
