COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Ringer, Councilmembers Crouch, Gardner, Schneider, Brown COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilmen McIlhaney and Birdwell Mayor Ringer opened the meeting. &genda Item No. I - Closed session to disouss personnel [6252- 17(2)¢q)]. The council convened into closed session at 5:20 p.m. &qenda Item No. 2 - action on closed session. The council reconvened into open session at 6:52 p.m. The following appointments to Citizens Committees were named: Councilman Brown moved to appoint Eileen Kramer 5/92, Virginia Abbott 5/92, Mary Eckles 5/92 and Fred Dollar 5/92 as members of the Cemetery Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Lynn McIlhaney. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Community Appearance Committee: Mary Joe Lay 5/92, Martha Sanders 5/92, Vivian Burton 5/92, Katherine Wood 5/92, Gary Engelgau 5/92, Susan Causey (Chairman) 5/92, and Lawrence Kubacak 5/91. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Vernon Schneider Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Community Center Advisory Committee: Jody Bates 5/92, Carle Murphy 5/92, Brad Lancaster 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crouch which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Nancy Crouch. Mayor Ringer stated that Councilman Brown shall continue to serve as the liaison to the Easterwood Airport Zoning Board. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Electrical Examining Board: Charles Freeman 5/92, John Grillo 5/92. Councilman Schneider seconded the motion which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Dick Birdwell. 007890 City Council Special Meeting Thursday, June 28, 1990 5:00 p.m. Page 2 Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Energy Management Committee: Janice Ray (Chairman) 5/92, Jane Moseley 5/92, and Pat Boyett 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Larry Ringer. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Historic Preservation Committee: Joan Lamkin 5/92, Lois Beach 5/92, Gary Halter (Chairman) 5/92, and Roger Feldman, 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gardner which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Jim Gardner. Councilman Brown moved to reappoint Gayle Schmidt 5/92 to the Joint Relief Funding Review Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crouch which carried unanimously, 5-0. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Parks and Recreation Board: Sharon Colson (Chairman) 5/92, Marci Rodgers 5/92, John Donovan 5/92, and Deborah Webb 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Nancy Crouch. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Plumbing Appeals Advisory Board: Dan Sears 5/92, Tom Wilson 5/92, Danny Sustaire 5/92, and Pat Boyett 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crouch which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Dick Birdwell. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Structural Standards Board: James Holster 5/92, Dan Sears 5/92, and Julius Gribou 5/92. Councilman Crouch seconded the motion which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Dick Birdwell. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the War on Drugs Committee: Judy Hedderman and Craig Hall. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Lynn McIlhaney. Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following citizens to the Zoning Board of Adjustments: Mike Lane 5/92, Gayla Yarbrough 5/92, Brett Henry 5/92, and Robert DeOtte, Jr. as Alternate 5/92. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crouch which carried unanimously, 5-0. Council Liaison: Jim Gardner. Mayor Ringer selected Dr. James Rohack (Chairman); Dr. Richard Coast, and a representative of the B/CS Restaurant Association to serve on the Smoking Ordinance Review Task Force. 007891 City Council Special Meeting Thursday, June 28, 1990 5:00 p.m. Page 3 &qenda Item No. 3 - &d~ourn.
