RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF A
MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON IN COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY,
the College Station City Council concurred and assiste~
in the formation of the Bryan/College Economic
Development Corporation to encourage economic growth
and expansion in the Brazos Valley; and,
Bryan-College Station is actively soliciting and
encouraging the Texas Department of Corrections to
locate a State prison facility in Bryan; and,
the College Station City Council desires to give its
full, public support to the project;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLLEGE
, TEXAS THAT:
Section 1. The construction, operation and maintenance~
of a maximum security prison facility in the Bryan-
College Station area would directly benefit public
employment and the general welfare of the citizens of
Brazos County. Such a facility would also fulfill the
purposes of the Bryan/College Station Economic
Development Corporation.

Section 2. The City Council fully supports the
construction and operation of a maximum security prison
facility in Brazos County.
