RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
DOCUMENTS FOR SUBMISSION OF THE TEXAS HOUSING
TRUST FUND APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT
OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed interest and support for providing
affordable housing to very-low and low income citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City of College Station staff exhibits the experience and
capacity to manage funds in accordance with all applicable federal and state
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs has
issued a Notice of Funding Availability for HOME funds; and
WHEREAS, the eligible activities under the HOME Program can be expected to
alleviate the housing conditions experienced by very-low and low income
citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
College Station that the Mayor is authorized to execute documents for
submission of the HOME application to the Texas Department of Housing and
Community Affairs.
