HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-1662 - Ordinance - 06/26/1986ORDINANCE NO. 1~27 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SBCTION 2, SUBSECTION A AND SUBSECTION E OF TRE CODE OF ORDINANCES, OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS RELATING TO WATER AND SEWER SERVICBS AND PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THB CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGB STATION TRAT: That Chapter 11, Section 2, Subsection A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Statxon is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 2: WATER AND SEWER SERVICES A. SCHEDULE OF RATES The monthly rates to be charged consumers for publxc utility services, namely water and/or sewerage connections, shall be in accordance with the schedules as follows: (1) Rates for Water Service (a) For domestic consumers, whether single-famxly or multi-family, uszn$ water within the corporate limits of the City: Charge per thousand gallons: $1.40 Service Charge per month: $4.00 (b) For commercial and/or industrial consumers using water wzthin the Corporate limits of the City: Charge per thousand gallons: $1.40 Service Charge per month: $4.00 (c) Subject to available capacity under present City of College Station load requirements, present system capability, anticipated load requzrements and anticipated system capabilzty, the City of College Station will enter into contracts for the sale of water outside the City upon final approval of the City Council. ORDINANCE NO. 1~? PACE 2 (e) All Customers rece~vinE water service under contract in which water rates are set by Ordinance or unaddressed by contract shall pay 1.5 times the domestic consumer cost of water as set by the City Council for each fiscal year. In the event the City of College Station ia unable to meet the water service demands of its residents and customers outside the City ltmits, the City of College Station residents shall receive preference in service unless otherwise required by contract. (2) Rates for SeweraRe Service (a) For consumers using seweraEe service purposes, single or multi-family, corporate l~m~ts of the City: for household within the Monthly charge per household unit: $10.00 (b) For consumers usam8 sewerage service for commercial and/or ~ndustr ~al business establishments within the corporate lzmits of the city: Fxrst 7,000 ~allons or fraction thereof of water - $10.00 Each addztional 7,000 gallons or fraction thereof of water used - $ 2.50 (c) For consumers usinE seweraEe service outside the corporate limits of the City: Charges per month shall be 1.5 times the amounts set forth in (a) and (b) above. Where it can be shown that any considerable part of the water used by commercial and/or industrial consumers does not reach the sewers, the City Council may make such adjustments in their rates as shall be deemed just and equitable." ORDINANCE NO, 1662 PACE II. That Chapter 11, Section 2, Subsection E of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follovs: EFFECTIVE DATE OF RATES These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after July 1, 1986 .' III. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby. IV. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances, in conflict herevith are superseded to the extent of the conflict only. And, tt is ordained that this Ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage in accordance with the City Charter of tbs City of College Station. PASSED AND APPROVED 1986.
