AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE USE OF A FIRE DEPARTMENT MANUAL BY THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, changes in law and policy have evolved which mandate the
necessity for a Fire Department Manual of Policies and Procedures to
replace any manual previously used for such purpose by the College
Station Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 1986, the City Council was presented with a copy
of written procedures and regulations with the heading FIRE
DEPARTMENT MANUAL, which manual is to be used by the College Station
Fire Department in the execution and performance of its duties, and
WHEREAS, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT MANUAL proposes to provide for the best
possible department operations while establishing a good working
environment for the Fire Department Personnel, and that any deviation
from the requirements of the manual by any member of the College
Station Fire Department would subject the member in violation of the
manual to disciplinary action; and
WHEREAS, any changes or additions to this policy manual will be
presented to the Mayor and City Council in accordance with the
requirements in the manual;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
That the FIRE DEPARTMENT MANUAL is adopted by the City Council and as
such is the only policy, written or unwritten, for the City of College
Station Fire Department.
