WHEREAS, it came to be considered the returns of a city council special
election held on the 10th day of August, 1996, for the purpose of electing one
councilmember to the College Station City Council;
WHEREAS, it appears from said returns, duly and legally made that a total of
763 valid ballots were cast at said election.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That each of the candidates for City Council Place 3 received the following
number of votes in said election;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That said election was duly called, that notice of said election was given
in accordance with the law; that said election was held in accordance with the
law; and that Mayor Lynn Mcllhaney, is hereby authorized to sign the statement
of Canvass of General Election, which shall be attached to and become a part of
this Resolution and a copy which shall be retained by the custodian of the
election records.

THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
An election is hereby ordered to be held on Saturday, the 7th day of September,
1996, for the purpose of electing a city councilman to the position of Place 3.
Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at the
College Station City Hall, 1101 South Texas Avenue, between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning on Monday, August 26, 1996 and ending on
Tuesday, September 3, 1996, excluding weekends and Monday, September 2,
1996.
Applications for ballots by mail shall be submitted to and received no later than
5:00 p.m. August 30, 1996.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION
TO THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
Pursuant to Election Code, Section 42.061(a), 42.061(b), and 43.004, the
College Station City Council designates the following city voting precinct to
serve as a central location of voting for this special election, more commonly
known as City Voting Precinct No. 34, College Station City Hall, 1101 South
Texas Avenue. All registered voters within the city limits of College Station are
eligible to vote at this location on election day, September 7, 1996.
Notice is hereby given that the polling place listed below will be open from 7:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 1996 for voting in the city special
runoff election to elect a City Councilman, Place 3.
City Voting Precinct No. 34 (consisting of City Voting Precincts and County
Voting Precincts (2, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 24, 27, 28, 29B, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 39, 40,
58, 59, 61, 62, 63, 71, 73, 75, 83) at the College Station City Hall, 1101 South
Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas.
