WHEREAS, on May 1, 1999, a combined city council and school board of trustees election
was held and said returns were considered for the purpose of electing three councilmembers
to the College Station City Council, two trustees to the CSISD Board of Trustees, and one
city proposition regarding vehicular traffic on Munson Avenue;
WHEREAS, it appears from said returns, duly and legally made that a total of 4,847 valid
ballots were cast at said combined election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That each of the candidates for Council Places 1, 3, and 5, and Proposition No. I on the City
of College Station ballot received the following number of votes in said election:

That said election was duly called, that notice of said election was given in accordance
with law; that said election was held in accordance with law; and that Lynn McHhaney
is hereby authorized to sign the Statement of Canvass of Election, which shall be
attached to and become a part of the resolution and a copy of which shall be retained
by the custodian of election records; and,
That James Massey was duly elected to City Council Place 1; that Winnie Garner was
duly elected to City Council Place 3; that Dennis Maloney was duly elected to City
Council Place 5. and Proposition No. 1 regarding vehicular traffic on Munson Drive
passed; and,
That the above named persons are duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the
taking of their oath of office and statement of officer as provided by the laws of the
State of Texas and the Charter of the City of College Station.
