A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, AMENDING THE SECTION 1, F, 13 OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES HANDBOOK,
WHEREAS, the City Council had adopted a Polices and Procedures Handbook by
Resolution in 1988; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend its personnel policies from time-to-time;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the City Council of College Station, Texas, that;
The City of College Station amends Section 1,F, 13 regarding an increase to Paramedic
Certification Pay.
ADOPTED this 14th day of October , A.D. 1999.

Educational Incentive Pay
Purpose
In order to be competitive and to provide incentive to encourage the development and retention of a
professional Fire and Police Force by raising the standards of promotional qualifications.
Eligibility
All regular, full-time sworn Police Officers or Certified Fireflghters and Paramedics are eligible to
receive certification incentive pay for those steps above the required basic certification.
General Provisions

Upon completion of a recognized certification course or an degree from an accredited
institution of higher learning the following would apply:

Associates Degree $25/mo.
Bachelor's Degree $50/mo.
Master's Degree $75/mo.
Intermediate Certificate in Law Enforcement $75/mo,
Advanced Certificate in Law Enforcement $100/mo.
Master Peace Officer Certificate in Law Enforcement $1 §O/mo.
An employee may receive pay for both a degree and a certificate.

For Fire: (Commission on Fire Protection)

An Associates Degree $50/mo.
A Bachelor's Degree $75/mo.
Master's Degree $100/mo.
Intermediate Certificate in Fire Protection $75/mo.
Advanced Certificate in Fire Protection $100/mo.
Master Certificate in Fire Protection $125/mo.
An employee may receive pay for either a degree or a certificate, but not both.
(4) For Fire: (Texas Department of Health)
Paramedic Certification $~,50/,mo. $200/mo.

Application must be made to the Chief together with a certified transcript from the
Registrar's Office of the institution from which the degree was obtained and/or a copy of
the certificate issued by either TCLEOSE or the Commission on Fire Protection or the
Texas Department of Health.
