A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A
GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR
FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS RECREATIONAL TRAILS FUND FOR TRAIL
DEVELOPMENT IN LICK CREEK PARK.
WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department administers the National Recreational
Trail Fund in Texas under the approval of the Federal Highway Administration for the purpose
of constructing new recreational trails, improving/maintaining existing trails,
developing/improving trailhead or trailside facilities, and acquiring trail corridors;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to apply for a grant to
construct trails in Lick Creek Park; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS THAT:
Part 1'
That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby approve the grant
application for $80,000 for the purpose of constructing trails in Lick Creek Park.
Part 2:
That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby agrees to provide the local
match contribution for $46,265 as listed on the application.
Part 3'
That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes and designates
the Director of Parks and Recreation to sign agreements with the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department for this grant on behalf of the City of College Station.
Part 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
