A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND RATIFYING THE MOTION TO INTERVENE
FILED ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION BEFORE THE RAILROAD
COMMISSION OF TEXAS AND AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION WITH THE STEERING
COMMITTEE OF THE CITIES SERVED BY TXU LONE STAR GAS COMPANY.
WHEREAS, on October 29, 1999, TXU Lone Star Pipeline filed a statement of intent with the
Texas Railroad Commission to increase the City gate rate by approximately 16% or $20 million;
WHEREAS, such rate increase would adversely affect the City of College Station's citizens and
the City as a customer served by TXU Lone Star Gas Company; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 1999, the City of College Station filed its Motion to Intervene with
the Railroad Commission; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
Part 1' That the City of College Station's Intervention is authorized, approved and
ratified in GUD 8976.
Part 2:
That the City of College Station joins the other cities and agrees to
participate with the Steering Committee of Cities Served by TXU Lone
Star Gas Company. The Steering Committee is authorized to retain
attorneys, consultants and expert witnesses that may be necessary to
protect the cities' interests.
Part 3: That the City Attorney is authorized to represent the City's interest with
the Steering Committee and before the Raikoad Commission.
Part 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 13th
day of January, AD 2000.
