A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE METHOD WHICH WILL PROVIDE FOR THE BEST
VALUE TO THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
CONFERENCE CENTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 271.114(a) of the TEXAS
LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ciry of College Station, Texas, determined a need to
construct a conference center; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry has considered using a method specified by Section 271.113(a) other than
competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry Council has determined that the method that will provide the best value for
the Ciry for the construction of the conference center is the use of competitive sealed proposals
for construction services as permitted by Section 271.113(2) of the Texas Local Government
Code; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIT'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That the Ciry Council hereby determines that the use of compeutive sealed
proposals provides the best value for the City in the construction of a conference
center;
PART 2 That the Ciry Council authorizes the use of competitive sealed proposals as the
procurement procedure for the conference center;
PART 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 6 th day of June, A.D. 2003.
